A Great Day For Drying by Zoe Collins

A Great Day For Drying by Zoe Collins

A Great Day for Drying. Mixed Media.

..

As a parent, I smile ruefully every time I catch myself excited at the prospect of a load of washing drying on a hot or dry windy day. I recall a family Christmas in Adelaide where I marveled at the laundry drying in an hour in the dry heat that swelled my ankles and made me yearn for the horrid humidity of Brisbane.

..

My work is an observation, as a parent and home dweller, of the patterns and textures of my own existence. Repetition, play and the push-pull of a haphazard contentment are explored, with endless opportunities to find beauty in amongst the chaos.
